A Sure Foundation, a Narrow Door, and A Kingdom that cannot Be Shaken

A Sure Foundation, the Narrow Door & A Kingdom that Cannot Be Shaken-What does this mean for you and I?” Isaiah 28:14-22;Luke 13:22-30; Hebrews 12:18-19,22-29 I came across this story which helps me remember what I should and forget that which God wants me to forget about “ Discernment”: “ Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson went on a camping trip. After a good meal, they lay down for the night and went to sleep. Some hours later, Holmes awoke and nudged his faithful friend. Holmes said: ‘ Watson, look up and tell me what you see.’ Watson said: ‘ I see a fantastic panorama of countless stars.’ Holmes : ‘ And what does that tell you?’ Watson pondered for a moment: ‘ Astronomically, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically , I observe that Saturn is in Leo. Horologically, I deduce that the time is approximately a quarter past three. Theologically, I can see that God is all powerful and that we are small and insignificant.

He is Able

From The Morning Message by Rev. G. Campbell Morgan , 1906 (my great-grandfather on my mother's side) I found this helpful today: " If you are doubting, you cannot inspire faith. If you are not sure how this thing is going to turn out, no one will be persuaded. You must be a man of certainty, a man on the resurrection side of the grave, the old life behind. 2 Timothy 1:12 RV ' I know him whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that He is able to guard that which I have committed unto Him ' " It is hard to get beyond our doubts when we see others struggle and lose hope. I know we all go thru this. We should be people who are on the resurrection side of the grave by faith. Others need to see God in us for them to know that we are certain people---people who are of faith. Have a great week and be persuaded He is able!
