The positive benefits of submitting to God's Authority in our lives

Lewis and I might add- surrender to Jesus. ( Joe Godal)   “Jesus, the Beloved of God, has a pure heart. Having a pure heart means willing one thing. Jesus wanted only to do the will of his heavenly Father. Whatever Jesus did or said, he did and said it as the obedient Son of God: "What I say is what the Father has taught me; he who sent me is with me, and has not left me to myself, for I always do what pleases him" (John 8:...28-29). There are no divisions in Jesus' heart, no double motives or secret intentions. In Jesus there is complete inner unity be

Glory

Sunday after Ascension    John 17:20-26   “ Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am: that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovest me before the foundation of the world.” 17:24       Today the church celebrates Ascension ----when our Lord was lifted up bodily into heaven.   “ …while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight” Acts 1:9   Of course we also remember mothers today, those here and those not here.         The verse above from John records what Jesus willed for all those who believe in Him.   He wills that they may be with Him where He is.   That is what we call heaven or glorification.   One day we shall see Him as He is ( I John 3:2).   So it is good we recall mothers today for some of our mothers are definitely enjoying that bliss now with Christ we trust.       On Easter we prayed along with the Apostle Paul , “ If ye then be risen with Christ, seek

Peace Possible?

John 14:23-29   Peace---Possible? “ Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you:not as the world giveth , give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”    Do peace and patience go together? Prayer for Patience … “Lord, teach me to be patient – with life, with people, and with myself. I sometimes try to hurry things along too much, and I push for answers before the time is right. Teach me to trust Your sense of timing rather than my ownand to surrender my will to Your greater and wiser plan. Help me let life unfold slowly, like the small rosebud whose petals unravel bit by bit, and remind me that in hurrying the bloom along, I destroy the bud and much of the beauty therein. Instead, let me wait for all to unfold in its own time. Each moment and state of growth contains a loveliness. Teach me to slow down enough to appreciate life and all it holds. Amen. Prayer Source: Unknown” Here is the question.   Do we experience peace when we
