Resurrection during pre Lent?

Interesting reading this Sunday for the Epistle. I Corinthians 15:1-11

" if you hold fast"= the better translation is " if you keep in memory"
This reminds me of the joke sent to me this week about the elderly couple. The wife asked, " When you are in the kitchen , bring me some short cake with strawberries and whip cream." " Do you need to write it down?" NO. He said to each time she asked on each item. In a few minutes he brought her eggs and bacon. She siad, " Where's the toast?"

Our memories are not very good , are they! As Christians we live in a world that values young persons and good looking people. We forget that we will not be here that long really. The bodies we have now will go and crumble. But we will receive a new body that is resurrected. This is something even the Greeks questioned in Acts 17. They believed in a soul that would last, but not the body! The soul will be re-clothed in an immortal body at the resurrection. This is a lot different than the after life held by the Greeks.

As our bodies grow older and we mature in ways we do not always enjoy, " keep in memory" the fact of the Resurrection!
